The Rayman Empire was the first of the great empires of the world. Masters of all they saw, they soon turned their eyes skyward, spurred on by the knowledge that they must progress or perish. Their society developed into a totalitarian state, with strong leaders and lofty goals. But after an invasion and ensuing civil war, public support collapsed and the military leaders abdicated. A peaceful civilian government now rules, facing their past mistakes with honour and committing themselves to peaceful expansion and exploration of the universe.
